The classroom argument is stronger in Bangalore than almost anywhere, and it rests on one thing: the people. Whoever sits next to you in a weekend batch in HSR or BTM will, two years from now, be scattered across companies that are hiring, and a referral from one of them beats any placement cell. That network is a real career asset and worth paying for.

Then there's the commute, which in this city wins most arguments it enters. A Tuesday-Thursday evening batch that involves crossing the Outer Ring Road at 7pm, or getting from Whitefield to Koramangala and home again, costs three hours a night. People sign up in January meaning to go, miss a session in February because a release slipped, and never quite start again. That isn't a discipline failure.

So, for most people already working: live online wins on time alone, provided "live" means live. Several providers sell recorded modules with a weekly Q&A attached and still call it live teaching. Ask to sit in on a session before paying, and watch whether questions get answered in the moment or written down for later. The exception is a weekend classroom batch close to where you live, where the peer group justifies the hours.

• Then check what "hiring partner" means. The softest claim in the Bangalore market. Ask whether those companies have an actual recruiting relationship, or whether one alumnus got a job there in 2022 and the logo went up afterwards.
• Ask who teaches and what they've shipped. Years of experience isn't the question. What did they build, where did it run, what went wrong.
• Look for deployed projects rather than notebooks. You want at least one thing you can send someone a link to.
• Get the full cost in writing, including registration, certification and anything labelled placement support.
• Ask to sit in on a class. Providers who are confident about their teaching say yes without pausing.

And if somebody is pushing you to pay today because the price goes up tonight, you've already learned the most useful thing about how they operate.
